Why I built FairlyFunded
I know what it feels like when the system fails you at your most vulnerable moment.
After years working as a software engineer in enterprise tech, I experienced a serious medical breakdown that left me unable to work. While on long-term disability leave — the one safety net I thought I could count on — I was terminated. No warning. No conversation. Just gone.
That experience broke something in me. But it also clarified something: the systems designed to protect people often do the opposite. They gatekeep. They discriminate. They punish vulnerability instead of supporting recovery.

I did not come from money. I did not have a network of investors. What I had was the experience of being failed by institutions, the technical skill to build something better, and an unwillingness to let anyone else go through what I went through.
